Nach dem Tod seiner Frau hat Chikara Shiga wieder geheiratet und lebt nun schon einige Jahre mit seiner neuen Ehefrau Sayo und seinem Sohn aus erster Ehe, Kaito, zusammen. Sie unterzieht sich weiterhin regelmäßig im Krankenhaus Behandlungen gegen ihre Unfruchtbarkeit, weil sie bisher keine Kinder bekommen konnte, während Chikara eigentlich gar keinen Nachwuchs mehr will. Als sie frisch verheiratet waren, war das noch anders, doch klar gesagt hat er nie, dass sich das geändert hat, sondern ist nur stetig mürrischer geworden, wenn das Thema wieder zur Sprache kommt.
