Für Manamis Ehemann ist die Rückkehr in sein Heimatdorf mit schmerzlichen Erinnerungen und Wut auf seinen Vater verbunden. Er konnte die Familientradition des Schlangenkults, bei dem die Frauen der Familie als Opfer (in Form einer Sex-Orgie) dargebracht werden, nie gutheißen, vor allem seit seine Jugendliebe Ayaka ebenfalls davon betroffen wurde. Er kehrt damals deswegen der Familie den Rücken und muss bei seinem Wiedersehen mit Ayaka nun feststellen, dass sie sogar mittlerweile seinen verhassten Vater geehelicht hat. Mit dem unbedingten Willen, sie aus seinen Fängen zu befreien, weil er Ayaka immer noch liebt, ist er sogar bereit, seine Ehefrau zurückzulassen, wenn er dafür wieder mit Ayaka zusammen sein könnte.
