Chiaki ist ein Mädchenschwarm, wie er im Buche steht. Hübsch, sportlich und selbstbewusst flirtet er jedes Mädchen an, welches nicht bei drei auf einem Baum Schutz gesucht hat. Unglücklicherweise verliebt er sich in seine Mitschülerin Maron, bei welcher er allerdings auf Granit beißt.

Er tritt als Gegenspieler und Rivale von Maron aka »Jeanne, die Kamikaze Diebin« unter der Identität von »Sinbad, der Dieb«, auf. Seine Beweggründe sind jedoch lange Zeit völlig unklar. Im Laufe der Handlung erfährt man ebenfalls, dass er, seit dem Tode seiner Mutter, kein sonderlich gutes Verhältnis mehr zu seinem Vater hat, welchem er vorwirft, selbstsüchtig, manipulativ und notgeil zu sein.
