Als älteste Tochter der prestigeträchtigen Minazuki-Familie, deren Oberhaupt das Aloha-Resort leitet, ist Izumi stehts darauf bedacht, sich sehr höflich zu artikulieren, was sich unter anderem darin äußert, dass sie Kaito stehts mit »Kaito-sama« anspricht. Abgesehen von ihrer gehobenen Ausdrucksweise würde man allerdings nicht vermuten, dass Izumi der Minazuki-Familie angehört, da sie über keinerlei Schamgefühl zu verfügen scheint, was ihre Freunde immer wieder zu schockieren vermag.

Nachdem Izumi Kaito am Tage seines Interviews aus Versehen nackt gesehen hat, ist sie davon überzeugt, in ihm ihren zukünftigen Ehemann gefunden zu haben, was sie mit ihrer offenen Art auch bei jeder Gelegenheit zum Ausdruck bringt. Izumi arbeitet wie auch ihre beste Freundin Hotaru als Teilzeitkraft im Resort ihres Vaters, belegt allerdings meist nur die Nachtschichten, da sie tagsüber eine Mädchenschule besucht. Zudem ist Izumi eine ausgezeichnete Kampfsportlerin, neben ihrer Perfektion der Minazuki-Kampfkunst beherrscht sie auch Aikido zu einem beträchtlichen Maße.
