Die kleine Kumi besucht mit ihrem Großvater General Tsukamoto eine Spielhalle, wo er ihr aus einem Greifautomaten ein Plüschmonster holen soll. Bei dem Spiel versagt er allerdings auf ganzer Linie und während er kurz weg ist, um neue Münzen zu holen, nimmt sich kurzerhand Arisa Mitaka der Sache an, die sich zuvor noch einen Ratschlag von ihm beim Flugsimulator anhören durfte. Kumi ist natürlich überaus glücklich darüber. Als Arisa sie kurz darauf vor einer herunterfallenden Reklametafel rettet, die sich aufgrund eines Autounfalls gelockert hat, ändert sich auch die Meinung vom General von ihr, der sie zuvor als für ungehobelt hielt.
