Nachdem ihre ältere Schwester Kuyou sich weigert für Taishakuten zu arbeiten und ihr später die Flucht aus dem Kerker gelingt, in dem sie eingesperrt wurde, übernimmt Hanranya das Wahrsagen für Taishakuten, dem sie dabei hilft die Six Stars zu finden. Ihre Kräfte sind nicht ganz so stark wie die ihrer Schwester, was auch daran liegt, dass sie nicht von Geburt an blind gewesen ist. Um überhaupt die Gaben einer Wahrsagerin zu erhalten, nahm sie sich ihr eigenes Augenlicht.
