Pei ist ein Mitarbeiter von Fu Chien und wurde von Dougen Takayanagi aus China angeheuert um dessen Sohn Mitsuomi Takayanagi bei seinem Training zu beobachten bzw. zu unterstützen.
Zu diesem Zweck entwickelte Pei eine Maschine (ein kleiner Raum wo Zahlen und Buchstaben, die bestimmte Schlag- und Trittkombinationen abfragen können, an den Wänden hängen), die Mitsuomi trainieren soll. Da Mitsuomi mit der Zeit immer stärker wird, schafft er es immer wieder die Maschine zu zerstören, so dass Pei immer neuere, bessere und leistungsfähigere Trainingsapparate entwickeln muss.
