Aoi Asahina ist eine leidenschaftliche und sehr gute Schwimmerin. Sie ist ein sehr energiegeladenes, freundliches und aufgewecktes Mädchen. Des Weiteren hat sie ein sehr schlechtes Namensgedächtnis und wirkt manchmal etwas dümmlich, wenn nicht gar leichtgläubig. Als sehr emotionale Person nimmt sie die Ereignisse an der Hope’s Peak Privatakademie sehr ernst und die ganze Situation geht ihr auch sehr nahe. Im Laufe der Geschichte erfährt man, dass Aoi Angst hat, wegen ihrer sportlichen Fähigkeiten nicht feminin genug zu sein. Außerdem hat sie eine Schwäche für Donuts.
