Als die Helden zusammen mit Verstärkung aus ihren drei Ländern aufbrechen um den Himmelswal zu untersuchen, endet dies damit, dass die Gruppe in alle Himmelsrichtungen zerstreut wird. Gaul findet sich dabei, nachdem er aufgewacht ist, in Gesellschaft eines jungen Mädchens wieder, das aber weder sprechen kann, noch weiß warum es an diesem Ort ist, ihm aber offenbar das Leben gerettet hat. Wie sich herausstellt, ist sie die Sängerin Aria, die normalerweise am Sternenfest dafür zuständig ist mit ihren Liedern den Himmelswal zu heilen.

Diesmal kam es jedoch zu einem Zwischenfall mit Verde, einer niederen Gottheit, mit der sie schon seit langer Zeit befreundet ist. So fehlt ihr nun ihre Stimme, weshalb sie die Zeremonie nicht mehr durchführen kann. Jedoch lässt sich auch dieses Problem aus der Welt schaffen, wofür sie der Gruppe, und ganz besonders Gaul ewig dankbar ist, wobei sie ihm gegenüber jedoch eindeutig mehr als nur Dankbarkeit empfindet.
