Mogana ist Schülerin der Hakoniwa Academy und besucht die Klasse 11. Anfangs ist sie Mitglied des Schwimmclubs, wo sie mit Umumichi Yakushima und Sotsu Tanegashima ihren gemeinsamen Traum von einem mit Geldscheinen gefüllten Pool nachgeht. Später wird sie von Medaka abgeworben, um als Schatzmeisterin im Schülerrat zu fungieren.
Mogana ist sehr an Geld interessiert. Außerdem hat sie Probleme im Umgang mit Menschen, was sich an ihrem ersten Tag im Schülerrat zeigt, als es ihr nicht gelingt, ein Gespräch mit Zenkichi Hitoyoshi zu beginnen.
