Miles ist ein achtjähriger, anthropomorpher Fuchs und Sonics bester Freund. Da ihm sein eigener Name nicht besonders gefiel, nennen seine Freunde und er sich selbst »Tails«, weil er zwei statt nur einem Schwanz besitzt. Er kann seine zwei Schwänze wie Propellerblätter schwingen lassen, um fliegen zu können. Zudem besitzt er einen IQ von 200, womit er der Schlauste in Sonics Freundeskreis ist. Sonic bewundert er sehr, weshalb er oft alleine ein Problem lösen will, was nicht immer gut geht und hat außerdem große Angst vor Gewitter.
