Imanotsurugi hat so gut wie immer ein Lächeln auf den Lippen. Er kommt gut mit seinen Kameraden in der Zitadelle aus und hängt besonders an seinem „Bruder“ Iwatooshi. Seine derzeit angenommene Form ist die eines Tengus. Springen ist eins seiner Stärken.

Als Schwert von Minamoto Yoshitsune war er bekannt als Schwert des Schutzes, um seinen damaligen Meister bis zum Ende zu beschützen. Allerdings wurde er zum Selbstmord benutzt, was ihn auch heute noch sehr quält und ihm öfter keine Ruhe lässt.
