Shingetsu Udou ist eine schwerttragende Schülerin im 1. Jahr der Oberstufe an der Tenchi Academy. Sie ist gemeinsam mit ihrer Shinyuu, Hajime Fubuki, die Anführerin der Kurogumi. Ihre Zwillingsschwester, Sougetsu, ist ebenfalls ein Mitglied der Kurogumi.

Shingetsus auffälligstes körperliches Merkmal ist ihr glatt rasierter Schädel, wie bei einem buddhistischen Mönch, der auch eine ständige Quelle für Gags auf ihre Kosten darstellt. Sie hat eine ernste und geduldige Persönlichkeit. Wie ihre Schwester benutz sie als Waffe einen Bou, eine Stangenwaffe, ein Kampfstab, der auch von den Shaolin-Mönchen einsetzt wird.
