Sonoe Suzuki ist eine schwerttragende Schülerin im 3. Jahr der Mittelschule an der Tenchi Academy. Ihre Shinyuu ist Shouko Aida. Sonoe und Shouko sprechen einander mit „Suzuki-san“ und „Aida-san“ an, was äußerst ungewöhnlich in der Serie ist, da die überwiegende Mehrheit der Shinyuu-Paare vertrautere Arten der Anrede verwenden.

Sonoe und ihre Shinyuu sind Hayates und Ayanas erste Gegnerinnen beim Hoshitori. Sie hegt einen Groll gegen Ayana, wegen einer peinlichen Niederlage, die ihr durch sie zuteilwurde, als sie noch mit Yukari ein Team bildete, was zu einem Duell zwischen ihnen führt. Sonoe taucht immer wieder in der Serie auf und nimmt abwechselnd die Rolle als generische Rivalin oder Bösewicht ein.
