Akane Kawashima muss aufgrund persönlicher Umstände das Schuljahr wiederholen und ist nun eine Klassenkameradin von Mari Wakatake mit der sie auch gemeinsam, mit Hagino und Michiko, im „Aoumi“-Wohnheim lebt. Trotz ihrer schwierigen Situation, die ihren Charakter prägte, ist sie zu einer zuverlässigen „großen Schwester“ geworden, die auf ihre jüngeren Mitschülerinnen achtet. Akane trinkt gerne Milch und liebt es zu kochen. Sie träumt davon, in Zukunft ein kleines Restaurant zu führen.

Akane Kawashima ist die leibliche Tochter von Schuldirektor Fukamachi.
