Obwohl Maron in der Präfektur Chiba geboren und aufgewachsen ist, hat sie das Herz einer echten Tokioterin. So hat sie sich nicht nur den dazugehörigen Dialekt sondern auch die damit assoziierte Lebensweise angewöhnt. Da sie schon seit ihrer Kindheit Reparaturen an dem Fischerboot ihres Großvaters durchführt, besitzt sie ausgezeichnete Fähigkeiten und Kenntnisse was Schiffsmaschinen betrifft. Als Chefmaschinistin der Harekaze setzt sie diese ein, um das zu Pannen neigende Schiff am Laufen zu halten.
Besonders wichtig ist Maron ihre beste Freundin Hiromi, sogar so sehr, dass sie ihr auf die Yokosuka-Meeresakademie gefolgt ist, als sie von ihren Plänen dort hinzugehen erfahren hat. Dass diese seitdem nur noch Augen für Mashiro hat und ihre Kindheitsfreundin daher vernachlässigt, passt Maron natürlich überhaupt nicht.
