Ritsuko ist auf der Harekaze zuständig für die Bedienung des ersten Torpedorohres. Ursprünglich sollte sie später einmal das Gasthaus ihrer Familie übernehmen, doch diese hat ihren starken Wunsch auf die Yokosuka-Meeresakademie zu gehen anerkannt. Da ihre Mutter eine ehemalige Profi-Bowlingspielerin ist, besitzt sie ebenfalls ausgezeichnete Fähigkeiten in diesem Sport, genau wie Kayoko, mit welcher sie deshalb gut befreundet ist.
