Charlotte ist die Großmutter von Mary und wohnt zusammen mit ihrer Hausfrau Banks in einem Haus im ländlich gelegenen Dorf „Red Manor“. Charlotte ist glücklich darüber, dass ihre Nichte zu ihr gezogen ist, doch dass Mary die seltene Blume „Flieg bei Nacht“ findet, hätte sie nie für möglich gehalten.

Denn Charlotte war mal Studentin des „Endor-College“ und hat diese besondere Blume vor Jahren bei einem Ausflug gefunden. Nachdem sie diesen Fund Doktor Dee und Madam Mumblechuuk zeigt und erfährt, dass die beiden ein gefährliches Experiment planen, entschied sie die Blume zu klauen.
Allerdings stürzt sie bei der Flucht mit ihrem Besen ab und landet im Wald bei Red Manor. Die Blume sowie ihr Besen gelten seit dem als verschollen. Alle Erinnerungen an diese Zeit sind in ihrem alten Haus auf einer Insel vor der Küste gut versteckt. Als Mary das Haus vor der Küste entdeckt, nimmt Charlotte mithilfe eines Spiegels Kontakt zu Mary auf. Dabei erzählt sie Mary auch, was sie mit der Blume zu tun hat.
