Eigentlich hatte der Ministerpräsident des Sternsystems Apic gar nicht beabsichtigt vor der Flotte des Abh-Imperiums zu kapitulieren und bekräftigt stattdessen sogar noch einmal eindringlich sein Desinteresse dahingehend. Doch scheint das Admiral Spoor nicht im geringsten wahrzunehmen, hat sie zuerst Makrit noch einfach abgewimmelt und den Kontakt beendet, darf nun erstmal Kufadis mit ihm verhandeln. Eine Tatsache die beim Ministerpräsidenten nur bedingt auf Gefallen stößt, denn wenn möchte er schließlich mit dem höchstrangigen Offizier sprechen und der später eintretende Umstand, dass Spoor ihn sogar noch dazu ermutigt weiter zu kämpfen, löst bei ihm erst recht Verwunderung aber vermutlich zugleich Verwirrung aus.
