Gonsuke ist ein schräger Tanuki vom Tsuda-Berg. Seine Zauberkünste sind sehr ausgeprägt, allerdings ist es für ihn schwierig auch alle Zauber auflösen zu können. Für seine geliebte Aphrodite Miyo tut er alles. Gonsuke ist völlig verschossen in Miyo und ist der festen Überzeugung, dass er der Richtige für sie ist. Allerdings hält Miyo nicht viel von Gonsuke. Der Grund liegt dabei in seinem Charakter. Gonsuke ist ein ziemlicher Egomane. Um besser dazustehen, stellt er sich als der schlauste und beste Zauberer dar. Vieles was aus seinem Mund kommt, ist ausgedacht und existiert nur in seiner Fantasie, nur damit er sich besser fühlt. Auf der Suche nach Miyo muss Gonsuke sich aber eingestehen, dass Miyo recht wenig Interesse an ihm hat.
