Keiji Takeda ist ein Student im dritten Jahr an der Shinyo Academy. Er glaubte lange Zeit alles über seine Freundin Touka Miyashita zu wissen, bis er Boogiepop kennenlernte. Er ist ein ziemlich normaler junger Mann. Aufgrund der Schulregeln, die die Beziehungen zwischen Jungen und Mädchen verbieten, haben er und Touka abgemacht, in der Schule niemals miteinander zu sprechen und stattdessen eine Gebärdensprache zu erschaffen, die nur sie beide kennen. Trotz der schwierigen familiären Umstände auf Toukas Seite und Keijis Designerjob, durch den sich die Beiden selten sehen können, sind sie verliebt und glücklich.
