Gurelli Jeskar war ein Hunter und der Lehrmeister von Shiki Ryuho. Er starb, als er Schießpulver vermischte. Er besaß das »Zeichen eines Verbotenen Hunters«, welches ihm das Recht gab, überall auf der Welt Monster zu jagen und ohne Einschränkungen an jeder Jagd teilzunehmen.

Es war schon immer sein Ziel, ein legendärer Hunter zu werden. Mit dem Töten des Myo Galuna wollte er dieses Ziel erreichen. Als er auf Shiki traf, erkannte er, dass man keine Legende werden kann, nur weil man es möchte. Man wird eine Legende, indem man von seinen Mitmenschen Vertrauen geschenkt bekommt. Dieses Vertrauen setzte er in Shiki, von dem er felsenfest davon überzeugt war, das Potential zu besitzen, eine wahre Legende werden zu können.

Später in der Geschichte kam ans Tageslicht, dass Gurelli kein wirklicher »Verbotener Hunter« war, sondern sich das Zeichen nur aufgemalt hatte. Er schloss die Prüfung zu einem »Verbotenen Hunter« zwar positiv ab, gab das Recht darauf aber an Shiki weiter.
