Chunhyang ist die Hauptfigur aus dem »Märchen von Chunhyang«, einem der beliebtesten Märchen Koreas. Anders als im Original ist Chunhyang hier männlich und verliebt sich nicht in Mongryong, sondern in seinen Diener Hyangdan.

Er wird als einer der schönsten Männer des Dorfes bezeichnet und nutzt dies auch aus. Dadurch hat er mit fast jeder Person des Dorfes geschlafen, was ihm schließlich auch zum Verhängnis wird. Aufgrund von Vollzug von Geschlechtsverkehr mit dem selben Geschlecht kommt er ins Gefängnis, wird aber bald von seinem Liebhaber und Diener Hyangdan befreit.
