F&C Co., Ltd. is a Japanese game developer founded on March 31, 1997. Its headquarters are located in the Shinjuku district of Tokyo.
When it was founded, the company took over the employees and some brands of the game developer IDES. The best-known brands include FairyTale and Cocktail Soft, which are also the basis for the company name. “F” stands for FairyTail, and “C” for Cocktail Soft. Other new labels were founded in 2001, such as FC 01, FC 02 and FC 03. These new labels were the result of a restructuring of the company. Apart from the three new labels, only the FairyTail brand survived.
The FC 03 label became independent in 2002 under the name DreamSoft Inc. with a brand of the same name, DreamSoft. However, the company ended its activities again on February 15, 2006, but continued to exist and put its brand to sleep.
In 2004, the decision was made to bring the Cocktail Soft brand back to life, and a new game was released under this name. At the same time, the team behind the FC 01 brand went independent and founded the game developer CUFFS.
