Wir schreiben das Jahr 1567. Kyonosuke, der Sohn eines Farmers, hatte schon immer den Traum, einmal ein Samurai zu werden. Aufgrund seiner starken äußerlichen Ähnlichkeit zum Lord Yasutaka bietet sich dem Jungen eines Tages aller Wahrscheinlichkeit zum Trotz eine einmalige Gelegenheit – Kyonosuke ergreift sie und wird damit zu einem der drei „Schatten“ des Lords. Nun muss er ein hartes Training absolvieren, um sich auf dem Schlachtfeld unbemerkt als Lord Yasutaka ausgeben zu können …

Siamo nel 1567. Kyonosuke, figlio di un contadino, nato e cresciuto nella regione montuosa di Hida, sogna di diventare un samurai. La sua occasione arriva quando un nobile di passaggio si accorge della somiglianza fisica con il signore Yasutaka.
