Die beiden Programmiererinnen und Softwaretesterinnen Reika und Youko, die in einer renommierten Spielfirma arbeiten, finden sich plötzlich in einer anscheinend virtuellen Welt mit Escape-Room-Eigenschaften wieder, deren Gefahren auf unbegreiflichen Regeln basieren. Diese Gefahren erscheinen, wie die beiden schnell begreifen müssen, sehr real und bedrohen die Existenz der beiden massiv. Während jedoch Youko eher praktisch veranlagt ist und eigentlich nur versucht, wieder nach Hause zu ihrem wartenden Lebensgefährten zu gelangen, interessiert sich die neugierige, in einen Betatester-Modus versetzte Reika für die Zusammenhänge ihrer neuen Umgebung und scheint ihr altes Leben nicht großartig zu vermissen.

Auf ihrer Suche nach einem Ausweg aus der Gefangenschaft durchqueren die beiden nicht nur verschiedenste Raumwelten, sondern treffen bald auch auf einen Mitstreiter, dessen Anwesenheit sie nicht im Geringsten erwartet hatten …
