Mikoto Kozumi ist ein Taugenichts und Schulschwänzer. Seine Freundin Yumi Takashina gibt Unterricht im Violinenspiel, hat jedoch keinen einzigen Schüler. Als er plötzlich ein Geräusch aus einem Nebenzimmer hört, sieht er dort eine alte Violine stehen. Nichtsahnend nimmt er sie auf und wie aus dem Nichts erscheinen schwarze Flammen auf seinem linken Arm, welcher nun von einem Dämon besessen ist. Dieser Dämon ist Zenobia Evani, ein Violinist, welcher vor vielen Jahren geköpft wurde, da seine Musik die Klänge des Teufels spiele.
Als nun der Vermieter von Yumis Violinenschule die Räumlichkeiten kündigen möchte, da sie keine Schüler hat, spielt Mikoto mit Hilfe von Zeno im Violinenwettbewerb, um mit dem Preisgeld die Miete zu tilgen. Mikoto selbst jedoch hat überhaupt kein Talent fürs Spielen …
