In this comic adaptation of the cartoon series, Paradigm City has amnesia - 40 years ago, something happened that wiped out the memories of its residents, forcing them to recreate their culture from scattered fragments. In this strange world, Roger Smith is a negotiator, a go-between for police, citizens, and criminals in high-risk diplomatic situations. But something else survives from the past: the mysterious Megadeuses! One of these giant robots, the Big O, may hold the key to surviving the crime and madness overtaking Paradigm City!

Durante un misterioso fenomeno, chiamato in seguito "l’evento", tutti gli abitanti di Paradigm City hanno perso la memoria; in questo modo tutti hanno dimenticato le atrocità della guerra. Ma "l’evento" non ha avuto effetto su tutti. Dal passato stanno ritornando dei robot, antiche macchine da guerra pronte a riportare il caos. Soltanto un uomo può proteggere la propria gente: Roger Smith, un negoziatore in grado di cavarsela in qualunque situazione. Tuttavia in caso di difficoltà Roger può ricorrere ad un’arma potentissima: il Big O, un gigantesco robot, antica reliquia del passato di Paradigm City.
