Description

High school student Hinako Yaotose lives alone in a town by the sea. She lost her entire family a few years ago in a terrible car accident. Since then, she wishes she were dead too.

One day, on her way to school on the beach promenade, she is overcome by sadness again and decides without further ado to jump into the water, where she hears promising voices. However, she is held back by a mysterious girl named Shiori Oumi: “Watch out, it’s dangerous here!”. How true: on the way home, Hinako is suddenly attacked by a sea monster, but again Shiori is on the spot and puts the monster to flight. In the process, Hinako realises that Shiori is not a human at all but also a sea monster. And Shiori does not save Hinako out of kindness! Rather, she wants to protect Hinako from all other monsters in order to eat Hinako herself in due course because Hinako’s tremendous and deep sadness makes her a particularly tasty human. Only this taste still has to mature, and until then, Shiori wants to do everything to protect Hinako. She even lets herself be accepted into Hinako’s school class to always be close to her. After all, as soon as Hinako feels joy in life again, her taste is at its best. And so, Shiori tries to restore the fun of life to her friend – or prey; paradoxically, only to kill her. What Shiori doesn’t know, however, is that she is not the only non-human being in the class who is interested in Hinako …
