Gin Tama (2003)

Many times Gintama got me hooked. This stemmed from exciting science fiction elements and refreshingly chaotic characters. So why did I rate it with 4 stars? Well, the reason for this is the end. I wouldn't exactly call it round. It seemed like changes are unwanted which is true for the Yorozuya. Their stable entity is certainly heartwarming, but in the end it didn't allow much growth. I wished for another outcome than them loosing sight of interests and bite on to Gin. I ask myself what their future will bring. Will Kagura become alien hunter like her father? Does Shinpachi consider to run his family's dojo? Can Gintoki and his friends cope with the recent events? Some stuff fueled purely speculations on the Yorozuya's future. I wonder how they can continue with a clingy bond. Still, I enjoyed this manga. I liked that Sougo was brought out of his shell and often discarded his selfishness. At least he didn't stay the same.
