Kotaro Tsutsumi ist ein junger Mann aus der Toyama Präfektur, der den Sprung in eine angesehene High-School nicht geschafft hat. Beängstigt wegen der Gedanken der Anderen und bemüht das verlorene Prestige wiederherzustellen, schickt seine Mutter ihn zu den Miyamotos, fernen Verwandten der Familie. Dadurch ist Kotaro gezwungen zwischenzeitlich auf die High-School in Himi City zu wechseln.
Eine neue Nachbarin von Kotaro wird die gleichaltrige Nagisa Ichinose, die die selbe High-School besuchen wird wie er. Um ihrer alleinerziehenden Mutter Beistand zu leisten, beendet Nagisa ihr Hobby Handball und opfert sogar ihren Traum eines Tages eine Krankenschwester zu werden.
Für das anstehende Kultur-Festival beschließen die Beiden ein Planetarium zu bauen. Als sie sich zusammen die Sterne ansehen, denkt Kotaro zurück an die Zeit, in der er von den Sternen und der Astronomie begeistert war und trifft einen wichtigen Entschluss.
