Fu Hung-Hsueh ist der beste Schwertkämpfer im Königreich, dicht gefolgt von Yen Nan-Fei und den fünf Leibwächtern von Kung Tzu-Yu. Seinen Rivalen Yen hatte er schon zweimal im Turnier besiegt, ihn aber jedes Mal verschont. Als die beiden zufällig erfahren, dass der mächtige Kung Tzu-Yu sie töten will, beschließen sie, in den Besitz einer geheimen Waffe, dem »Peacock Dart«, dem »Pfeil des Pfaus« zu gelangen. Es beginnt ein tödlicher Wettlauf nach dieser Waffe, dem viele zum Opfer fallen. Als Fu beschließt, Kung Tzu-Yu zu stellen und ihn zum Kampf zu fordern, muss er feststellen, dass es sich hierbei um seinen Kampfgefährten Yen, der mittlerweile in den Besitz des Pfeils gelangt ist, handelt. Wird Fu ihn trotzdem besiegen …?
