Jin-Ae und ihre Mutter San-Ok stoßen immer wieder aneinander. Täglich wirft Jin-Ae ihrer Mutter vor, dass sie ihre ganze Aufmerksamkeit nur ihrem ersten Sohn Hyeong-Gyu widmet, obwohl ihre Tochter hart arbeitet, um die Schulden des Vaters abzuzahlen. Ihr jüngerer Bruder Hyeong-Soon dagegen sucht verzweifelt nach einem Job und gerät in Schwierigkeiten, nachdem er einem Freund aushilft. Jin-Ae lernt später Hoon-Jae, den Sohn ihrer Chefin, kennen und nach einigen Hürden heiraten die beiden. Das Leben mit ihrer neuen Schwiegermutter ist anstrengend und ungewohnt und Jin-Ae beginnt zum ersten Mal ihre Mutter zu verstehen.
