Synopsis

After a fishing boat sank off the coast of Japan, the last survivor reported that a green monster had capsized the boat. A scientist who had bred the good-natured monster Sanda from prehistoric cells years ago investigated the case. He feared that Sanda might be responsible for the accident. Sanda had been released near Mount Fuji some time ago. However, Sanda was brown, not green. It is concluded that Sanda must have been injured in a body of water, and that some of its prehistoric cells must have entered the sea as a result. There, the green monster Gaira developed.

One day, Gaira emerges from the sea and brings death and destruction to Japan. The army fights it, and when they have almost destroyed it, Sanda arrives and rescues the green monster. But Sanda quickly discovers that Gaira is evil. This leads to a battle of the giants in Tokyo …
