Kinuka Saijo ist Hausfrau und verheiratet. Zusammen mit ihrem Mann hat sie eine 17-jährige Tochter und einen 15-jährigen Sohn. Durch den Tod ihres Schwiegervaters zieht die Familie in ein westliches Haus in Kamakura, das von ihm hinterlassen wurde. Kinuka verwirklicht endlich ihren langjährigen Traum einer Ikebana-Schule, indem sie einen Salon in ihrem neuen Haus eröffnet. Als sie denkt, dass ihr aktuelles Leben schon perfekt ist, ist sie mehr als entsetzt als ihr Ex-Freund Itsuki Seno bei ihrer Hauseinzugsparty auftaucht, obwohl sie sich vor gut 18 Jahren getrennt haben. Obwohl es Kinuka gelingt, Seno an diesem Tag zu verjagen, so beginnen sich seltsame Dinge im Haus zu ereignen. Plötzlich fehlt Essen im Kühlschrank oder die Kleider ihres Ehemannes verschwinden ohne ersichtlichen Grund. Es stellt sich heraus, dass Seno angefangen hat, im Dachboden des Hauses zu leben und so beginnt sich langsam ein Geheimnis zu offenbaren, das von den Leuten um Kinuka versucht wurde zu verstecken. Dies drängt Kinuka mental immer mehr in die Ecke. Als dann noch ein Mord verübt wird, führt dies dazu, dass ihr Schicksal komplett aus der Bahn geworfen wird.
