Synopsis

In ancient China, Pu Songling protects the human world against evil demons. His most important weapon is the Ying Yang sceptre, with the help of which he can summon a spell book. Using the sceptre and the spell book, Pu Songling can send demons to hell, where they are finally eliminated after some time. Pu Songling has already been able to persuade many comparatively harmless demons to stop their harmful activities without resorting to the last resort.

The young and overzealous policeman Fei is sent after Pu Songling by the chief of police. The latter’s persistent pestering leads to Pu Songling giving Fei the ability to see the demons. Together they try to eliminate the demons who have kidnapped some young women. However, both men quickly reach their limits when another demon hunter begins to interfere in the case …
