Shoji Segawa war immer ein stiller und unauffälliger Junge, bis er das nationale Mittelschulturnier im Shogi gewann und somit von den Leuten anerkannt wurde. Als er 26 Jahre alt wird, zerbricht sein Traum ein professioneller Shogi-Spieler zu werden, aufgrund einer Altersbeschränkung. Nachdem er mit dem Spiel aufgehört hat, verzweifelt er an der Situation. Durch die Unterstützung seiner Kollegen, so auch Yuya Suzuki, und seiner Liebe zum Shogi, beginnt Shoji wieder mit dem Spiel und so geschieht ein Wunder mit ihm.
