Description

2500 years ago, a monster wanted to bring eternal suffering to the Earth. Since nobody could kill it, the Buddha stopped it by tearing out its eyes – one black and one red. However, the red eye could not be caught so easily and wanted to use seven chosen people as a bridge to reach humanity. When the Buddha finally succeeded in stopping the red eye, he placed it and the black eye each in a casket. He then buried one casket in the mountains of the East and the other in the deserts of the West to ensure that they would never reunite, thereby reincarnating the monster.

In the present, Professor Kim Joon-Cheol sets out to find the red eye in order to prove that the story of the monster, now only a myth, is true. Ha-Jung, a monk and guardian of the casket, discovers that the red eye has been reawakened. He instructs the monk Cheong-Seok to search for the construction worker Park Jin-Soo. The latter is said to be destined to prevent the reunion of the eyes. Meanwhile, detective Kim Ho-Tae deals with unusual deaths caused by the red eye. Soon Cheong-Seok, Jin-Soo and Ho-Tae meet, and together they set out to find the Shaman whom the red eye wants to invade and who serves as the last bridge to resurrect the monster.
