Business Proposal (2022)

Shin Ha-Ri works at the large company Go Food, and is currently single and hopelessly in love with a boyfriend who is probably unattainable for her. When she seeks consolation from her friend Jin Young-Seo, the latter asks Ha-Ri to take her place on a blind date. Young-Seo has to take part in these because, as the daughter of a prestigious family, she has to find a worthy marriage partner as quickly as possible. Because there is also money in it, Ha-Ri is supposed to make sure that no one is interested in her.

However, the plan goes rather awry, as Ha-Ri’s date turns out to be Kang Tae-Moo, the CEO of the company where she is employed. The businessman is practically married to his job and now has to go through the same misery as Young-Seo, namely finding a candidate for marriage. To put an end to the constant blind dates and to stop the nagging of this grandfather, he decides to take the next best woman: Ha-Ri, who is to receive a generous amount of money per date if she keeps up the lie. Because Ha-Ri can make good use of the money, she agrees to start a fake relationship with Tae-Moo under a false name, but has to be very careful that her true identity as an employee of Go Food is not revealed …

Die junge Frau Shin Ha-Ri arbeitet beim Großunternehmen Go Food, ist derzeit Single und hoffnungslos in einen Freund verschossen, der für sie wohl unerreichbar ist. Als sie Trost bei ihrer Freundin Jin Young-Seo sucht, bittet diese Ha-Ri darum, ihren Platz bei einem Blind Date einzunehmen. An denen muss Young-Seo teilnehmen, weil sie als Tochter einer angesehenen Familie schnellstmöglich einen würdigen Heiratspartner finden soll. Weil auch Geld dabei herausspringt, soll Ha-Ri zudem dafür sorgen, dass sich kein tatsächlicher Interessent findet.

Der Plan geht allerdings ziemlich schief, denn Ha-Ris Verabredung stellt sich als Kang Tae-Moo, der CEO des Unternehmens heraus, bei dem sie angestellt ist. Der Geschäftsmann ist praktisch mit seiner Arbeit verheiratet und muss nun das gleiche Elend wie Young-Seo durchleben, nämlich eine Kandidatin für die Heirat zu finden. Damit die fortwährenden Blind Dates ein Ende haben und sein Großvater endlich Ruhe gibt, beschließt er, die nächstbeste Frau zu nehmen: Ha-Ri, die pro Verabredung eine hübsche Summe erhalten soll, wenn sie Lüge aufrechterhält. Weil Ha-Ri das Geld gut gebrauchen kann, willigt sie ein, mit Tae-Moo eine Scheinbeziehung unter falschem Namen zu beginnen, muss dabei jedoch höllisch aufpassen, dass ihre wahre Idenität als Angestellte von Go Food nicht auch noch auffliegt …
