Synopsis

Kokumi Asuka grows up in the shadow of her father, a celebrated shogi grandmaster whose fame and influence have strongly shaped her life. The expectations associated with his name, as well as personal losses, leave deep marks on her life. Over time, she develops a sense of anger and determination that drives her to find her own path.

Driven by her past, Asuka begins to study the strategy game shogi intensively. In doing so, she discovers a talent that surprises her and opens up a new direction in life. As she tries to assert herself in the traditional world of professional shogi, her rise becomes a personal battle against the shadows of her past. But the closer she gets to her goal, the more she has to ask herself whether revenge or self-determination is her real motivation.
