Description
Yasuo Ootsuka was a Japanese animator and character designer. He worked for Toei Animation, TMS Entertainment and Studio Ghibli, among others.
From 1956, he played an important role in the Japanese animation industry and was one of the Toei animators who experimented with frame rate modulation in animation. He worked with Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata, among others, as a mentor in their early days. He died at 89 years old.
